Roggebotzand
Roggebotzand is the oldest forest in Eastern Flevoland where the pine marten jumps through the treetops or come face to face with a deer, the sea eagle can also be found regularly in the Rottebotzand. The Koningin Wilhelminabos, memorial forest of the Dutch Cancer Society is also located in the Roggebotzand.
Waterloopbos
National monument Waterloopbos near Marknesse is a historic open-air laboratory in a beautiful polder forest. Hundreds of studies have been conducted here into the behavior of water. You will find remnants of the research into the Delta Works.
Marked walking routes lead you past the models of waterworks that lie like ruins in the forest.
Boot path
There is a lot of variety in Spijk-Bremerberg. The variation in soil types, seepage water and grazing ensure this. New pieces of nature have been developed in various places. Beautiful places to enjoy countless dragonflies and birds.
Staatsbosbeheer has mapped out beautiful walking routes. The Boot path that starts at the exit of Bungalowpark de Bremerberg.
Natur Park lelystad
Looking for a nice trip? How about coming face to face with a herd of galloping przewalski horses, imposing red deer or rooting boar? Have you ever seen a moose or wisent in real life? Ever see storks breed? Or see Milu Deer romp? It's all possible in Natuurpark Lelystad.
Marker Wadden
The new nature islands in the Markermeer are part of the Nieuw Land National Park. Discover this new habitat for plants, insects, fish and birds. A natural paradise where you can enjoy a new beach, new hiking trails and new bird watching spots. Join the ferry service to the Marker Wadden!
Oostvaardersplassen
More than 50 years ago, nature in southern Flevoland created this vast swamp area, with reed plains, rugged grasslands, ponds, surrounded by forests. Geese, spoonbills and cormorants quickly found the Oostvaardersplassen, just like deer, foxes, hares, bats and butterflies. And since 2006 even the bald eagle is nesting there.
Hanneke's picking garden
At Hanneke's picking garden you can pick your own bouquet on a large piece of land in Biddinghuizen! You will receive a basket and a pair of scissors from Hanneke. Now you can choose the most beautiful flowers for a self-composed and original bouquet. In the spring, the Tulip picking garden is also open, where you can pull a bunch of tulips out of the ground. In the greenhouse you can drink a cup of coffee or tea with a treat, while enjoying the view of the blooming garden.
Sand sculptures at the Veluwe
Until December 30, you can visit the Sand Sculpture Festival in Garderen, with a Sculpture Garden, lunchroom and Rose Garden. More than 200 images of sand, wood and concrete depict a theme. You walk past the statues in a fairytale-like environment, equipped with music and special effects.
Spijk-Bremerberg
Flevoland's most varied nature reserve Boswachterij Spijk-Bremerberg was created on a bottom of sea clay and sand. The variation in soil types, seepage water and grazing ensure this. New pieces of nature have been developed in various places. Beautiful places to enjoy countless dragonflies and birds. You might spot the bald eagle!
The Sculpture Garden Garderen
Show grounds with more than 4000 images, bird baths, flower pots and other decorative elements for the garden.
Nationaal Park Nieuw Land
New Land National Park is a world-class National Park. It is the largest man-made nature park in the world.
You are literally here at the bottom of the former Zuiderzee. The Oostvaardersplassen, Lepelaarplassen, Markermeer and Marker Wadden would never have existed without the land reclamation of Flevoland, the largest land reclamation project in the world.
Roggebotstaete estate
The Roggebotstaete estate is young: with a wide horizon, constantly changing skies, beautiful water features, surprising vistas and a rich flora and fauna. Here you will find 52 hectares of space for yourself and nature. Until the end of the 1950s, the sea, then as a tree nursery of the Rijksdienst the nursery for nature in Flevoland. It was built as an estate in 2005 and is still under development. No large country houses, but a sea of space with nature as the basis for a healthy lifestyle.
The Dutch Big 5
You may have heard something about the Big 5 of Africa. The elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo. We also have our own Dutch Big 5 in the Netherlands, so take a walk on the Veluwe and take your camera to capture our own Big 5! In the Veluwe these are Red Deer and Wild Boar. Or you can find the otter in Natuurpark Lelystad.
Kemphaan urban estate
De Kemphaan urban estate is the place where you can enjoy an adventurous day out in the midst of nature. There is much to experience. Children can play in the Zuiderzeespeelbos, climb in tree tops of Fun Forest and enjoy delicious pancakes at Dubbel-Op. You can also go out with the forester. Or discover the jungle garden, browse the organic farmer's market and go see monkeys at the AAP foundation. Boredom is not an option, it does get dirty.
Het Flevo-landschap
In the visitor centers of The Flevo landscape there are hosts and hostesses who will gladly advise you on the activities and sights in the nature reserves. There are treasure hunts and backpack routes available for the children and you can book excursions. The Flevolandschap has beautiful nature areas that consist of wetlands, primeval forests, grasslands and deciduous forests.
Nunspeet viewing gardens
This four-hectare "Flower Heart of the Veluwe" is a wonderful destination for a day out.
